BERGER TRANSFER TO CELEBRATE 100TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY
To mark the corporation’s 100th anniversary, Berger Transfer and Storage has scheduled an open-house celebration on Thursday, May 13th at each of its nineteen locations nationwide. Specific details on each location’s celebration events will be revealed in the following weeks. Berger Transfer’s staffs, clientele and the general public are all encouraged to attend the 100th Year Anniversary event."Our customers and the communities we serve have helped shape the rich history of Berger Transfer," states Berger CEO Bill Dircks Jr. “The 100th anniversary celebration is not only an opportunity to commemorate past successes, but also an opportunity to remember the vision and values that will continue with us into the future.”
During this past 100 years Berger Transfer has serviced over one million moves throughout the country. Here are a few of the more notable moves. In 1973, under the darkness of night, Berger St. Paul’s Office and Industrial Division relocated $5 billion to the new Minneapolis Federal Reserve headquarters in Minneapolis, MN. In the early 90’s, Berger Dallas warehoused and transported two sections of the Berlin Wall that were on world-wide tour here in the United States. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Berger provided transportation for relief efforts to the city of New Orleans. In 2008 Berger New Jersey delivered two 37 foot steel beams that were part of the original World Trade Center to Giants Stadium in New Jersey. The beams were signed and put on display as part of a remembrance and tribute for the victims of 9/11. These beams will be contained in the new National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center Site in New York City.
